John 21:1-17

In chapter 18, Peter stood around a charcoal fire and denied knowing Jesus three times. In this passage, Jesus invites Peter to join Him at a charcoal fire, where He asks Peter three times, "Do you love me?" What do you think Jesus is up to here?

Do you want to probe even deeper? The first time Jesus asks Peter about his love, He says, "Peter, do you love me more than these?" (v.15). What do you think Jesus meant by "these"? What is Jesus referring to when He says, "these"??

Finally, what do you observe in this passage? What does the author of John want us to see in this interaction between Peter and Jesus? Do you hear Jesus speaking to you as you meditate and reflect on this story?
