See you tonight and Sunday!
Hey TC Family, The apostle Paul made the statement that if Jesus Christ had not risen from the dead then our faith is meaningless (1 Corinthians 15). If you are a Jesus follower your faith is based not on how you feel, or on your experience, it is based on Jesus' resurrection from the dead. That is solid faith. That is a faith that cannot be shaken because that faith is not dependent on you, it is dependent on what Christ has done! This is the weekend we remember Jesus' death and celebrate His resurrection. I'm looking forward to gathering with you tonight. The service starts at 6:30 PM. My Dad, Cal Maskery, will be preaching our Easter message this year. He will be sharing his dramatic story of coming to faith while in a maximum-security prison and about how the message of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection changed the trajectory of his life. This is a great service to bring friends to. Childcare and coffee There will not be childcare or children's ministry at the Friday night service. Feel free to bring your kids, the downstairs children's area will be open for parents who wish to take their kids downstairs, but a parent or guardian will need to be present. Children are welcome to stay upstairs with their parents. We will not be serving coffee on Friday night. Baptism, Communion, and a Community meal Sunday will be a very special day. After Sunday's message, we will be taking communion together. Following communion, there will be a baptism. So far we have 4 people who are going to be baptized. What a joy to celebrate with people who are publicly committing their lives to Jesus Christ as Lord in the waters of baptism! After the baptism, we are going to share a meal together. Come this Sunday ready to worship, remember, celebrate new birth, and eat with your brothers and sisters in Jesus.

Be a BereanFor those who want to dig a bit deeper This weekend spend time in John 19:17-20:10. What do you observe in the text as you read about Jesus' crucifixion and death? What do you notice about His resurrection? Notice the people who are named in the story, take note of what they say. What message do you think John intends to communicate to us, his audience, about Jesus' death and resurrection? For those who want to dig a bit deeper In a few weeks, we will be starting a new teaching series based on the life of David called: Flawed Human; Holy God. If you want to really dig into this series I recommend the book: Leap Over a Wall by Eugene Peterson. Peterson takes deep dive into David's messy life and finds tons of real-life applications for how we can encounter God in our lives today. The book is filled with rich insights, beautiful theology, biblical imagination, and a perspective on David that might surprise you. This new series will be starting in May. If you are interested in ordering this book click the link below, it will take you to Amazon where you can order it for $20.
